Is Costa Rica the place to be?

The city of San Ramon Costa Rica
If
you
are
visiting
Costa
Rica,
it
would
be
excellent
if
you
visited
San
Ramon
this
little
town
is
located
in
the
beautiful
Central
Valley
of
Costa
Rica
in
the
province
of
Alajuela.
It
is
a
city
with
many
tourists
I have seen them
taking
pictures
and
enjoying
a
walk
in
San
Ramon.
Despite
being
a
little
far
from
San
Jose
this
small
town
of
San
Ramon
is
considered
an
important
shopping
center
it
is
also
considered
one
of
the
most
important
cities
in
the
upper
area
of
Costa
Rica.
It
is
the
regional
headquarters
of
numerous
public
entities,
including
the
headquarters
of
the
West
at
the
University
of
Costa
Rica.
For
many
it
is
the
capital
of
many
natural
and
tourist
resources.
The
main
business
activities
of
San
Ramón
area
is
currently
growing
coffee
and
sugarcane,
as
well
as
many
businesses
in
the
city
center,
mainly
clothing
stores,
jewelry
stores,
shoe
stores,
selling
food,
etc....
In
fact,
it
is
the
second
district
within
the
province
and
is
one
hour
from
the
capital
of
Costa
Rica
San
Jose.
There
is
plenty
of
public
transportation
from
San
Jose
to
San
Ramon.
San
Ramon
has
a
dramatic
landscape
of
mountains;
it
is
a
slow,
relaxing
and
peaceful
place.
This
small
city
is
also
known
as
the
"city
of
presidents
and
poets,"
because
many
of
the
political
and
literary
figures
of
Costa
Rica
were
born
and
have
lived
there,
including
former
presidents
like
José
Figueres
and
Rodrigo
Carazo,
as
well
as
famous
poets
like
Lysimachus
Chavarria
Palma
and
Feliz
Angel
Salas
Cabezas.
There
is
a
park
with
large
trees
where
young
and
old
couples
sit
down
and
enjoy
the
cool
weather.
Furthermore,
north
of
the
Plaza
is
the
city
museum,
the
Museum
of
San
Ramon,
which
resembles
a
traditional
farmhouse.
The
Museum
focuses
on
the
role
it
played
in
this
city's
history
and
culture
of
Costa
Rica.
Many
consider
Saturday
morning
the
ideal
day
for
San
Ramon's
farmers'
market
or
fair
of
agriculture
with
the
presence
of
many
people
selling
their
vegetables,
fruits
and
livestock.
The
prices
are
reasonable.
If
you
are
in
the
city
during
august,
try
to
stay
on
San
Ramon
when
the
whole
town
goes
crazy
with
parades,
music
and
dancing.
Among
them
is
the
parade
in
San
Ramon
BOYEROS
that
attracts
many
tourists,
the
occasion
is
important
to
the
county
as
many
farmers
bring
their
typical
wagons
and
oxen.
Last
year,
they
had
near
about
250
pairs
of
oxen
in
the
parade
who
came
from
places
like
Zarcero,
Mansion
of
Nicoya,
Jicaral,
Cartago,
Heredia,
Guatuso
Bagaces
Fortuna,
San
Carlos
and
Athens
and
elsewhere.
San
Ramon
is
a
relaxing
place
and
offers
visitors
plenty
of
hotels
and
very
luxurious
accommodation
at
reasonable
prices,
as
well
as
excellent
restaurants
and
bars.
Although
in
recent
years
has
increased
crime,
you
can
still
enjoy
much
of
what
this
small
town
has
to
offer.
