Spider monkeys in Costa Rica

Los monos araña en Costa Rica

El Mono araña, es la especie de monos mas inteligente de todas las especies de monos en toda Costa Rica. Esta clase de especie es una de las mas interesantes y graciosas. viven en los bosques tropicales lluviosos y secos aquí en Costa Rica.



Los turistas les encanta grabar sus monadas en vídeo mientras ellos saltan entre la copa de los arboles. Su cola es como si fuera otro brazo o pierna ya que es muy flexible y muy prensil. Ellos toman velocidad a través de los árboles utilizando sus patas delanteras y su cola.

De hecho la cola de las hembras es mas larga. Las hembras son mas livianas que los machos por lo general.


Se mueven ágil y velozmente entre las ramas del dosel superior del bosque a unos 20 y 30 metros de altura. Según la especie, su cuerpo mide de 65 a 90 cm de longitud, y la cola prensil de 60 a 92 cm. Son de apariencia más fina que otros monos

Cuando uno los observa puede notar que son muy juguetones y también son nerviosos. Siempre están alerta ya que también tiene que cuidar su cola por así decirlo. Hay en estas selvas tropicales depredadores que estarían muy alegres de comérselos. Entre ellos están los pumas, el jaguar, Boa constrictor y el Aguila Arpía.


Viven en grupos territoriales de 6 a 30 individuos, que comparten un área de 90 a 250 hectáreas y buscan comida en los árboles durante el día, a una altura promedio de 15 m, en subgrupos de 2 a 8 monos. Se alimentan de frutos, semillas, hojas, cortezas y madera.

Como caso raro entre primates, las hembras tienden a dispersarse en la pubertad para unirse a grupos diferentes, mientras los machos permanecen en su grupo original. Las hembras escogen una pareja del grupo. Tal y como hacen las mujeres con los hombres. Que gracioso!!.. La madurez sexual llega a los 4 ó 5 años. Pueden vivir hasta 20 años.

La mayoría de los bebitos nacen durante la temporada de seca. Los bebés siguen siendo parcialmente dependientes de la leche de su madre durante el primer año de vida.

La gestación dura 225 días cada 2 a 3 años, la reproducción lenta es debido a que los monos arañas son muy sensibles a la perturbación humana y sus poblaciones no se recuperan rápidamente cuando son cazados o debido a la deforestación.

Lamentablemente, el mono araña se encuentra en la lista de especies en peligro de extinción.



En todos estos parques nacionales en Costa Rica los podrá encontrar.
Parque Nacional Santa Rosa, Estación Biológica La Selva, Parque Nacional Corcovado, Reserva Biológica Bosque Nuboso Monteverde y también puede ser encontrado en San Vito.

Puerto Viejo Costa Rica

Uno de los lugares mas bonitos y interesantes para visitar en la costa sur de este lindo país es Puerto viejo. Este lugar ofrece un ambiente alegre y relajado, Claro esta no seria justo que lo compararamos con Miami beach o quizás a Marbella España ya que Puerto Viejo no esta tan desarrollado así el lugar ofrece otros atractivos naturales además de la rica comida picante y su cultura afro caribeña única.

Apesar de ser un lugar con muchos atractivos naturales no es un lugar idóneo para llamarlo hogar no para todos...  la vida en Puerto Viejo no es para todos es mejor visitarlo y después de un tiempo volver, así es mas divertido opinan muchos.

Puerto Viejo no tiene campos de golf, puertos deportivos, clubes de campo, canchas de tenis, y casi no hay piscinas y hoteles muy pocos, incluso con A / C.

Si buscas donde pasar la noche puede quedarse literalmente en medio de la jungla y a tan solo minutos de la costa. Algo interesante para los que tienen un espiritud de aventura.

Como es lógico esperar el lugar si es húmedo, creo que el Pacífico es mucho más caliente. De hecho, la temperatura aquí es la forma más coherente y es muy rara vez tan caliente que se siente incapacitado. La mayoría encuentran las temperaturas bastante cómoda.

La mayoría de la gente en este lugar tiene descendencia afro caribeña y proveniente de Jamaica o de otras islas del Caribe. Eso explica la alegría del lugar y la espontaneidad de sus gente. Ellos vinieron para la construcción del ferrocarril y otros para trabajar en las plantaciones de banano. El corazón y el alma de la zona caribeña esta expresada en los ricos sabores que se convierten en el lugar favorito para los turistas que buscan relajación y diversión bajo el sol. de hecho no te sorprendas si ves a pequeños grupos de mujeres que viajan solas o hasta algunas de ellas sin compañía a lo largo de Puerto viejo CR.

El pueblo le abre los brazos a todos los extranjeros, estos pueblos son experiencias inolvidables. Además de todas sus bellezas también tiene la posibilidad de estar en contacto directo con las tribus de los indios Indígenas que han vivido en la región por miles de años.

The city of San Ramon Costa Rica
