Is Costa Rica the ideal country for you?

Well, it all depends in who you are if you are a Canadian or European or an American, and you do not know any Spanish, and you want to retire in Costa Rica you are bound to get into trouble soon or later, why? Let me explain why. Since you do not know the language, and you don’t know your way around you will become an easy target for those people who think you are rich just because you are from overseas.

Costa Rica is a very green and beautiful country. Geographically speaking all the beaches the mountings and rives would make anyone fall in love with the place. However, we have to recognize this place is not for everyone. You will have to put up with a lot of baloney to make it here.

 
It might be too that we might be too spoiled… either way it will take some time to get used to the way of life here.

If you have the money, it might not be too bad. You will be able to afford a nice house. Some of these nice places; American styles are worth just as much as you would pay in the US. If you want to have space, nice rooms with walking closets, you will certainly have to pay for it.

 

Don’t think you will get paradise for cheap here, don’t be naïve thinking you will not have any challenges, especially if you do not know Spanish at all. When God gave paradise to Adam and Eve, it was free and the place was like a national park, it was spectacular no place like it, it was so huge that three rives ran through it.

 

All thought Costa Rica is an amazing place to visit it is not paradise, and you will not always get the five start treatment God gave his first children.  Unless, you are Bill Gates, and they can kiss up to you.

Ouch! It sounds like you are bitter... you might say. I understand your argument. However, I strongly believe that you can’t be bitter and better at the same time.

So if you decide to ever move down to Costa Rica please analyze all the pros and cons it will make it easier in the long run.

CANASTAS DE PLÁTANO CON CAMARONES CREMOSOS

No hay nada mejor en el mundo que comer con hambre quizás diga usted. No obstante si nos sentamos a comer con un hambre atroz algo delicioso entonces la experiencia se vuelve inolvidable. eso es lo que me sucedió el domingo pasado.

Me prima nos invito a un lugar que se llama Miramar como a una hora de San José. Miramar se ubica en el centro de Montes de Oro, limita al Norte con el distrito de La Unión y al Sur con San Isidro. Al Oeste limita con el cantón central de Puntarenas, y al Este con los cantones de Esparza y San Ramón de Alajuela.

Cuando llegamos a este pequeño restaurante llamado LA BETA DE ORO en Miramar no tenia expectativa alguna sobre la comida. Solo sabia que tenia un hambre sin precedentes. El dueño es un señor de Colombia llamado Luis Eduardo Valderrama. El personalmente nos atendió de entrada pedimos una cerveza y de regalo nos dieron un pequeño coctel de ceviche.

Estaba en su punto... muy rico. En vista de que quede antojado ordene otra cerveza y me dieron otra muestra de este coctel de ceviche. No solo se trata del sabor me gusto mucho el servicio también.

En el tiempo que llevo en Costa Rica este ha sido el mejor servicio al cliente que he experimentado. Le suplico que valla a este pequeño restaurante y pruebelo por si mismo.

La experiencia no termino allí... mi esposa ordeno un arroz con pollo muy bien hecho estaba muy rico. Cuando llego el plato de mis primos me dieron a probar las Canastas de plátano verde con Camarones Cremosos.

se me derretía la boca al probar este manjar hecho en este pequeño restaurante. Si me pregunta a mi yo se lo recomendaría sin pensarlo dos veces. Las canastas están hechas de plátano frito y dentro de ellas camarones de alta calidad en una crema de mantequilla deliciosa. La verdad es aunque el arroz con pollo estaba muy bueno me arrepentí de no haber ordenado las canasta de plátano verde con camarones.

Fue una de mis mejores experiencias en Costa Rica en cuestion de restaurantes. Vale la pena la manejada desde cualquier lugar del país para probar este delicioso manjar echo en la cocina del restaurante la beta de Oro.

　

 

Ingredientes:

1 plátano verde

400 gr de camarones pinky pelados y desvenados

1 cebolla mediana picada

1 tomate grande picado

¼ taza de vino blanco

3 cucharadas de crema dulce

¼ cucharadita de pimienta cayena o un poquito más al gusto (es picantita)

¼ cucharadita de paprika ahumada

Jugo de medio limón

Maicena para espesar

Sal y pimienta al gusto

Cebollín para decorar



Preparación:

Para las canastas de plátano; ralle el plátano por la parte gruesa(sí, así crudo), sal pimente y utilice moldes para cupcakes para formarlos. Ponga primero una capa de PAM (aceite en spray), coloque el plátano rallado hasta llegar a los bordes estando seguros de no dejar huecos grandes y cuando termine ponga un poco más de PAM. Hornee a 350 F hasta que esté dorado.

　

Cuando estén doradas, sáquelas del horno y del molde y deje enfriar ya que conforme esto suceda se irán endureciendo.

　

Mientras tanto haga el relleno: coloque un poquito de PAM y saltee la cebolla y el tomate; cuando el tomate esté deshecho, agregar el vino y dejar reducir.

Agregar los camarones, pimienta cayena, paprika y la crema dulce. Cuando los camarones se cocinen, espesar con maicena disuelta en un poquito de agua. Rectificar la sazón y antes de servir agregar el jugo de medio limón.

Servir en las canastas y disfrutar! Rinde para 8 canastas.

Las Chorreras Rio Blanco COSTA RICA

Palmares Festival in Costa Rica
