What to say about this place? If you are visiting Costa Rica, you have many options here. One of them is Manuel Antonio National Park. The park is located south of Quepos on the Pacific Coast, 132 kilometers from San Jose the capital.

Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the most handsome national parks in the country. It is the wilderness that receives the largest amount of national and international tourism.

One of the most important attractions in this place is the humid tropical forest where species of flora and fauna are in danger of extinction: the raccoon, coati, agouti, two-toed sloths, white-faced monkey, the marmoset. The park protects patches of forest, mangrove, beach vegetation, marine environments, islands and a lake of 14 hectares.

What to say about the temperature?
Visitor should expect high temperatures. The average annual temperature is 27 ° C, with a minimum temperature of 20 ° C. The average annual rainfall of 3,875 mm. Usually the park gets the most visitor during The dry months' January, February and March.

You can observed species of birds like the toucan, pelican or hyacinth, the grouse, the osprey, green kingfisher and jacamar. It is possible to see iguanas and lizards, snakes and countless insects.

The main environmental problem of the park it is the poorly planned tourism development in the area, thus causing a massive influx of visitors to the area and pollution of the sea. Furthermore, large-scale monocultures deteriorate into the soil, and sedimentation occurs at sea. Garbage and feeding of wild animals by visitors are other problems facing the area.

This does not mean is not worthwhile to visit this handsome place. So if you care to visit this beautiful park do not forget to come with good friend or family so you can share your joy of being there.
